Worth it

The game came like it said it would, in good condition.

The game is fun. There are cool guns, ranging from WWII (e.g. mp40, mg42, etc) to the more modern guns, and unique weapons like an auto-locking missile launcher, flamethrower, and bow. You can purchase mods like silencers, scopes, and extended magazines from vendors, allowing you to increase the versatility of a weapon. You can also buy special ammunition types and have fun playing with remote-controlled explosives, a shovel launcher, a magnopulser, and the occasional mortar.

There are helicopters, land-based planes, and seaplanes, some of which are equipped with machine guns, bombs, and/or missiles. There are also boats, ATVs, cars, and tractors.

The game features a skill tree that you can progress through by accomplishing goals from a list of challenges (e.g. "kill 8 enemies with a Molotov", "skin 4 caribou", etc). Examples of unlockable perks on the skill tree include unlocking a wing suit, unlocking a grappling hook, increasing health, and increasing ammo capacity for a particular gun category.

I find that the game has a good balance between making you work for upgrades (whether buying a better gun, a mod, or a perk, etc) while also allowing you to achieve them in a reasonable amount of time. This prevents you from becoming too powerful too fast and getting bored, but also prevents you from getting bored too fast because of excessive "grinding."

This can be seen as a positive or a negative, depending on your preference, but the game does feature reality-breaking elements that you must perform through, like drug hallucinations and brainwashing that are fun, but also decrease the sense of realism.

Examples of things that people may find frustrating are that you can only have four gun slots, after unlocking them, one of which has to be a sidearm. However, once you buy a particular gun, you will always be able to re-equip it for free at a gun vendor, but you will not be able to have every gun you've unlocked at your disposal during a mission.

Also, there are occasional glitches - on the play-through I just completed, I remember two glitches that were only solved when I restarted a checkpoint or restarted my console entirely.

The storyline can get a little boring and repetitive at times, however, there are interesting plot developments and some differentiation between missions. Some side missions, in particular, are sort of funny - I just finished one where I had to kill bulls while they were mating, so bull testicles from bulls with blue balls could be served at the local Testy Festy.

Some parts of the game are a little too controlled (e.g. you fail the mission if you leave the area), however, the game does allow you to approach missions however you want: Do you want to snipe the alarm systems first? Do you want to sneak around undetected and perform silent kills? Do you want to bomb the area first with an airplane? Maybe snipe as many people as you can with a silenced sniper?

All in all, I would say that, while there are a few areas that could be improved, it is definitely worth the price.
